Managing Fraud risk: How to prevent the global pandemic from becoming a fraud pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has already impacted virtually every segment of business and personal life across the globe, on a trajectory that is still running an unpredictable course. Instances of fraud - especially insider fraud - are on the rise due to the effects of COVID-19 on the economy. But there are ways that companies can better prepare and protect themselves against such threats.
The aim of the session is to provide:

  • Insight into the rise of fraud cases and explain how the economic situation affected by COVID-19 will lead to an increase in fraud by looking at the fraud triangle.
  • Examples on the types of common fraud which we will expect to see more of, as well as touching on some industry-related fraud risk examples.
  • Information on how organisations can be better prepared to fight fraud in the time of COVID-19.
